Passage – JHB Art Fair 2017 – The Swartberg mountain pass allows you to move through great ancient untamed earth- home to hundreds of plant species and remarkable quartzite and contorted rock. This passage can function as existential measuring scale, offering stillness, perspective and constancy in our loud fast changing world.

To Make Right – Smith 2018 – I’ve been interested in art as therapy. In a personal attempt to process and progress, I made this drawing inspired by ho’oponopono, a healing Hawian mantra that means to ‘make right’ using the words- I’m sorry, I love you, please forgive me and thank you. I wrote about 4000 of each of these mantras repeatedly while vocally chanting them, and thinking of myself and people throughout my life. It’s felt deeply beneficial, personal and universal.

No Words – Cape Town Art Fair 2020 – We use flowers to visually communicate to each other, they have a language depicted by their kind and colour. The reference used for this still life was black and white. I imagined colours to make up a new message.
